Sean Ratcliffe, Research Associate
Environmental Engineer with B.Eng from University of Guelph where I also conducted my graduate work in Environmental Sciences investigating light quality interactions to biopharmaceutical production. Field technician with experience in agricultural/commercial irrigation systems and industrial atmospheric emission studies. Focused on field data collection in adverse settings. Interests include home grown vegetable gardens and hobby electronics. My duties are proposal development, field data collection, water quality analysis and lab management.
Dr. Xiulu Sun, Postdoctoral Research Fellow
I come from China and completed my PhD at Wageningen University in the Netherlands. Before that, I earned my M.Eng degree from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and B.Eng from Inner Mongolia Agricultural University. My research primarily focuses on water and nitrogen management in croplands, as well as pedo-hydrology at the field scale. When I'm not working, I like playing tennis and running.
Dr. Haitao Wang, Postdoctoral Research Fellow
I worked at Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development in Agriculture, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Specializing in the efficient utilization of agricultural water resources, and received Ph. D. from China agriculture University. Possess multidisciplinary expertise spanning agricultural machinery (smart water and fertilizer), agronomy (plant physiology), and environmental science.

Ruth Sitienei, Ph.D. Student
PhD student specializing in Bioresource Engineering at McGill University. Previously, I worked at The Nature Conservancy as a soil scientist for the Africa Program based out of Nairobi, Kenya. My training is in the Management of Agroecosystem and Environment (BSc), and an MSc in Soil Science both from the University of Nairobi. My current research interest centers on the modeling of nutrient cycling and greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural systems in Canada.
Pyae Aung, Ph.D. Student
From Myanmar, I have professional experience in green product development, renewable energy, and climate change mitigation and adaptation. I earned a B.Eng in Electrical Electronics Engineering from Myanmar Maritime University, followed by an M.Sc in Innovation from Singapore Management University. Later, I pursued an M.Sc in Bioresource Engineering from McGill University. My current research involves modeling soil nitrogen processes using the STELLA visual platform for managing N, aiming to improve nitrogen use efficiency and reduce N2O emissions.
